New Twrivia Website On The iPhone

Twrivia.com on the iPhoneWe received a lot of feedback from players who were trying to access the old Twrivia.com website on their iPhones. You couldn’t view the answers on the old website when viewed on an iPhone.

We took the feedback on board and made sure that the new website would be usable on iPhones. You can now view the answers from the web browser on your iPhone.

We are also considering the possibility of developing a fully-fledged Twrivia iPhone app that would alert you when a new question is published and include a standalone trivia game that you can play whenever you want to. Let us know your thoughts about Twrivia on the iPhone - would you be interested in an iPhone app?

New Twrivia Website Brings Exciting New Features

It’s been a few weeks since the new Twrivia website was launched and things have settled down a bit. We have added lots of new functionality and there were inevitably a few bugs to iron out, but most of them are sorted now.

The new Twrivia website

One of the biggest changes to the new website is the introduction of a scoring system. Players are now awarded points for correct answers to the daily trivia questions. The first five correct answers are awarded the most points. Players’ points are aggregated for the current month and ranked in the Leaderboard. You can also view the top five players from previous months.

Another important change is hiding the answer until the first five correct players have responded. This makes the game a bit more challenging. On the old website, the answer was right there as soon as the question was published, making it fairly easy for players to figure it out!

There is still a ‘Learn more’ link next to every question, which provides useful hints, if you’re not sure about the answer. It also leads to some interesting trivia background on the question topic.

We’re now tweeting more than one question per day. You’ll be seeing two or three daily trivia questions in your Twitter timeline from now on. Each question is now preceded by a 15-minute warning tweet to let you know the question is coming.

This blog is another new feature. We know we’ve been a bit slow to get into the blogging habit, but from now on we’ll be posting regulalrly to let you know about new features, news and some background about the questions.

Professor Cy trivia quizmaster extraordinnaireAnother big change that lots of you have noticed is the website design. We tried to give the new website a fun look and feel to represent the nature of Twrivia. We’re proud to introduce ‘Professor Cy’, the new logo, mascot and alter-ego of our quizmaster!
